    Anatoly Podlesnych  – Biography

    Anatoly Podlesnych was born on December, 13 in 1948 in Karaganda. Died on March, 5th in 2015 in Moscow.

    His mother, Ekatherina Nickolayevna, was born in Lipetsk region in the family of fabricant, colonel of Russian Tsar`s army. Anatoly`s father, Michail Stepanovich, came from Tambov region. He participated in World War II. He was a professional artist, a muralist. In 1930-s their families were repressed and deported to Kazakhstan.

    At the age of 14 during studying at school Anatoly worked at the plant «Metallokonstroukt» as a decoreographer.

    After finishing school he studied in the Art College in Alma-Ata.

    In 1967 he teached painting at the artistic studio and Palace of the Pioneers.

    In 1970-1972 Anatoly served in the Soviet Army in Novosibirsk, where he took an active part in the artistic life of the city. He participated in the exhibition opened by Lavrentiev, the member of the Academy. During this period Anatoly Podlesnych worked together with the painters N. Gritsouk, V. Laguna, L. Serkov. Among his teachers was V. Stelmashonok, professor (mural painting, Minsk).

    In 1970 he was awarded for his participation in the exhibition dedicated to the 100th anniversary of V.I.Lenin.

    In 1972 Anatoly Podlesnych entered the Artistic Fund of Karaganda. In that period he took an active part in many international and domestic artistic events and exhibitions.

    In 1976  A.Podlesnykh participated in an International Grafics Exhibition, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of  M.Churlionis. The series of A.Podlesnykh`s works was published in the journal «The Evening Vilnius», and in the album dedicated to M.Churlionis 100th anniversary (Vaga Publishing)

    During the period 1974-1980 Anatoly Podlesnych worked together with E.Prokhorov, V.Khapougin and S.Feygin under the guidance of B.Talberg.

    Since 1981 he participated in All-Union and republican water-colorists groups together with S.Kozhayev, A.Megnis, M.Kozoulin. Since 1982 he also took part in the exhibitions of muralists.

     

     

     

    In 1986 Anatoly Podlesnykh graduated from Pedagogical Institute of Karaganda, faculty of graphics.

    Since 1987 till 1997 he was the head of artistic studio. The works of the studio`s members won a number of international Children Art awards (Japan, France, Russia, Hungary (Balaton). In 1998 and 1999 Anatoly Podlesnych was the leading artist of Temirtau.

    In 1999 he moved to Moscow with his family.

    Since 2000 he was a member of muralists section of Moscow Artists Union (MAU). He took part in MAU annual exhibitions, personal exhibitions in Moscow.

    Anatoly Podlesnych was awarded diplomas and certificates for his original design of architectural objects, a medal for Labor Merit – for his decorative design of the pioneer camp “Vostok-I” (1976). His works were presented in the album “The World of Painting. Moscow muralists in jubilee year” (Moscow, 2002).

    The most significant of the artist`s works are: water-colour series «Antiquity», «Metallurgist» and a series of paintings «Kirghiziya», etc.

    The pieces by A.Podlesnych were purchased by art galleries and private collectors from Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kirghiziya, Armenia, Germany, Bulgary, Turkey, USA, Israel, Australia, Italy, and other countries.
