For me, the main artistic task is visual space, that my mentor D.Zhilinsky had talked about.

My artistic credo is not about eclectics or style choice, it`s about an idea.

An artist that loves himself too much and is self-admiring is not an artist any more. A constant dissatisfaction is a real basis for creativity.

Transcendental vision exists. There is a foreground that can be seen by anyone. If you draw it, you make a mistake. There is a background, and an air space in between foreground and background. When an artist can paint that air space, the glow appears. It is very difficult.

Many artists think that all kinds of theories in art are rubbish. But it`s those theories that help find the truth. Through them you think over the depth of your work, your development and self-improvement.

I often thought before I got to sleep how to make my painting. Then I went to bed and made it in the morning. Ideas came to my night dreams.
